Interlude 1 - I.R.S.I.F.F.


"Syouah?" Yugi blinked at the screen in confusion. He'd never seen a word like that before.

"I think it's supposed ta be C, Y, O, A, Yugi-chan," Jianu replied, peering at the computer screen over her cousin's shoulder.

"What does it mean?"

Jianu shrugged, "I dunno."

"It stands for Choose Your Own Adventure," Murasaki Rose told the teens.

"Oh! I remember those! I had a couple of those books back in grade school!"

"Why are people writing them as fanfiction, then?" Yugi asked the demi-saiya-jin authoress.

"Wanting to relive their childhood, boredom, lack of imagination, etc," the amethyst-haired woman replied offhandedly. "Really, I can't see anyone over the age of fourteen wanting anything to do with them, much less write the silly things."

"Ya notice they're all romance stories?" Jianu asked, arching an eyebrow at her creator.

Murasaki Rose snickered, "Yup. And I refuse to comment any further."

Yugi turned large eyes on the woman, "Doushite?"

"`Cause I'll probably piss off a lot of pre-teens, and I really don't feel like dealing with all the hate-mail I'd probably get."

"That and we don't need the heat from the flames yet. It is summer ya know," Jianu added.

"So you're not gonna give your opinion, Rose-san?" Yugi asked.

"Hell yea, I am! It's gonna go right in my rant section at the Asylum, and maybe in my blog too."

"IF she ever gets around to writing it, that is."

Rose growled at the blond teen, "Watch it girl, your fate is entirely in my hands."

"Heh, heh."
